Description

Limny contains a flaw that allows a remote cross site scripting (XSS) attack. This flaw exists because the application does not validate the "lang[direction]", "page[title]", "settings[title]", "lang[encoding]", and "settings[version]" parameters upon submission to the 'themes/gray/page.php' script. This may allow a user to create a specially crafted URL that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.

Technical

This vulnerability is only present when the register_globals PHP option is set to 'on'. This has not been the default setting for PHP installs since version 4.2.0 (22-Apr-2002).
