A remote overflow exists in mIRC. The IRC client fails to check PRIVMSG string lengths resulting in a stack overflow. With a specially crafted request, an attacker can execute arbitrary code resulting in a loss of confidentiality and integrity.
The victim would need to be enticed into connecting to a malicious IRC server to exploit this vulnerability, or via embedded IRC:// commands within a HTML page.
