Description

IBM DB2 contains a flaw that may allow a remote denial of service. The issue is triggered when a remote user sends a signal to the semaphore that shuts down the instance of DB2 UBD, and will result in loss of availability for the service.

Solution

Users of DB2 8.1 should upgrade to version Fixpack 7 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. Users of DB2 7.x should upgrade to version Fixpack 12 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
