Description

Foxit Reader contains a flaw related to the JavaScript API. The issue is triggered when a context-dependent attacker convinces a target user to open a specially crafted PDF which uses a call to createDataObject() to create or overwrite arbitrary files. This may allow an attacker manipulate arbitrary files.

Solution

It was initially reported that version 4.3.1.0218 fixes this vulnerability, but this has been disputed by a reliable third party source. A workaround of enabling Safe Reading Mode has been reported.
