Description

A code execution flaw exists in Systems Requirements Lab. The sysreqlab2.dll ActiveX control contains an unsafe method that allows code download and execution. With a specially crafted website, a context-dependent attacker can cause arbitrary code execution resulting in a loss of integrity.

Solution

Currently, there are no known upgrades or patches to correct this issue. It is possible to correct the flaw by implementing the following workaround: set the kill-bit on the Systems Requirements Lab ActiveX Controls (CLSIDs {67A5F8DC-1A4B-4D66-9F24-A704AD929EEE} {BE833F39-1E0C-468C-BA70-25AAEE55775E} {BE833F39-1E0C-468C-BA70-25AAEE55775F}).
