A local overflow exists in NJStar Word Processor. The product fails to perform boundary checking when reading font names from NJStar document files (".njx"), resulting in a stack-based overflow. With a specially crafted request, an attacker can cause arbitrary code execution resulting in a loss of integrity.

The problem was specifically found in the Chinese and Japanese editions of version 5.01.41108; the vendor states that the Chinese and Japenese versions of 4.x and 5.0x are also vulnerable.
Solution
Upgrade to version 5.10 or higher, as it has been reported to fix this vulnerability. An upgrade is required as there are no known workarounds.
